About the American Navigator

The American Navigator is the official publication of CACTUS, an organization dedicated to the advancement and defense of the Catholic faith in the United States. Our mission is to help people navigate the turbulent waters and tumultuous deserts of American society, through continuing education in the faith, as well as politics, history, philosophy and theology. We are also activists, advocating for the participation of all Christians in our society for the advancement of the common good, and the renewing of our dying culture.

At the American Navigator, we believe and uphold all the teachings of the Catholic Church and put our trust in her head and savior, Jesus Christ. That said, we reject modern liberal philosophies and their misunderstanding of human nature and affirm Catholic Social Teaching as the only teaching that can readily mend the ailments of society. The love of Christ our Lord is the only medicine which can treat the illnesses so prevalent today.

Daniel D. Jackson, the Founder and President of CACTUS, is an ordinary American, and Catholic convert. Formerly a protestant, he writes about the pressing issues of American politics and culture, offering a unique and traditional perspective which always touches on the heart of every matter.
